We are light to the world, but yet to a blind world. So we shine for Him, not for them. They may be warmed by the light, and benefit in that regard, yet clueless on whom we are shining towards. Truly light (a candle) can dispel the darkness of a room, but never has darkness dispelled the light of the candle. Our light cannot be put out by the scoffing of the dark.
